Jonathon Naylor Editor Some charges have been laid and others are pending as RCMP continue to investigate a rash of break-ins this past spring. Between April 27 and May 1, thieves targeted four downtown businesses and not-for-profit agencies. In the April 27 break-in at Super K Convenience, in which cash and tobacco products were stolen, one suspect has pled guilty while two others are to appear in court next month. As for the May 1 break-in at the Co-op, which saw cash and unspecified products swiped, police say charges are pending but have not yet been laid. All suspects are local teenagers between the ages of 14 and 16. As such, their names cannot be released. Two other spring break-ins remain unsolved. Overnight May 1, one or more people forced their way into the upper level of 49 Main Street Ð which houses Revive Massage Therapy, K and D Wellness Spa and the Schizophrenia Society Ð and stole money. Days earlier, on April 28, thieves entered the Community Youth Resource Centre and nabbed a laptop computer and some smaller, undisclosed items. The centre has since been targeted a second time. Also unsolved is a second break-in at Super K that occurred during the early morning hours of June 8. The culprits stole tobacco products Ð specifically a large quantity of Prime Time cigars Ð and caused nearly $500 worth of damage. RCMP ask anyone with information on these or other unsolved crimes to contact them at 687-1423 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Callers to Crime Stoppers remain anonymous and may become eligible for a cash reward.
