It seems moviegoers can't get enough of someone else's misfortune. "Meet the Fockers," a film about the hilarious embarrassment that ensues when a man's parents meet those of his fiancee, finished in top spot at the U.S. box office over the weekend. Starring Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand, the film has not been praised by critics but still managed to gross an estimated $42.8 million. Finishing in second place was "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" starring Jim Carrey as a conniving count. It made $14.7 million. "The Aviator," a biopic starring Leonardo DiCaprio as legendary pilot Howard Hughes, came in third with $11.2 million. Hey, hey, hey! "Fat Albert," a live action version of the famous Bill Cosby cartoon series, was next with $10.7 million. Rounding out the top five was the star-studded comedic action movie "Ocean's Twelve" with $9.24 million. Rounding out the top ten were: "National Treasure" ($7 million); "Spanglish" ($6.3 million); "The Polar Express" ($5.73 million); "The Phantom of the Opera" ($4.82 million); and "Darkness" ($4.54 million).
