The new Nicolas Cage thriller "National Treasure" lived up to its title over the weekend, debuting in top spot at the U.S. box office. The anticipated feature, about a man trying to steal the U.S. Declaration of Independence, grossed an estimated $35.3 million. Opening in second place with a surprising $33.5 million was "The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie," based on the popular cartoon series. "The Incredibles," a computer-animated feature starring a family of superheroes, continued its strong run in third place with $26.8 million. Yet another animated film, "The Polar Express," featuring the voice of Tom Hanks, finished in fourth with $15.2 million. Rounding out the top five was the romantic comedy "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason," which made $10.1 million. Rounding out the top ten were: "After the Sunset" ($5.28 million); "Ray" ($4.6 million); "The Grudge" ($3.8 million); "Seed of Chucky" ($3.15 million); and "Saw" ($3 million).
