The Asian martial arts blockbuster Hero held onto top spot during a slow Labour Day weekend at the U.S. box office. The critically-acclaimed Jet Li vehicle, first released overseas in 2002 as Ying Ziong, grossed an estimated $11.5 million in its second weekend in North America. Starring a cast of unknowns, the camping comedy Without a Paddle continued its surprising run in second place with $9.4 million. Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid took third spot with $8 million. The dramatic thriller Paparazzi, starring Cole Hauser (2 Fast 2 Furious, Hart's War), opened weak in fourth with $7.85 million. Rounding out the top five was The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement with $7.32 million. Rounding out the top ten were: Wicker Park ($6.75 million); Collateral ($6.5 million); Vanity Fair ($6.12 million); The Cookout ($6.1 million); and The Bourne Supremacy ($5.4 million).
