The computer-animated feature "Shark Tale" continued to be appealing bait for audiences over the long weekend, finishing in top spot at the U.S. box office. Featuring the voices of Will Smith, Robert De Niro and Renee Zellweger, the family film remained the box office champ by grossing an estimated $31.7 million in its second weekend in theatres. The much-hyped "Friday Night Lights," starring Billy Bob Thornton as a high school football coach, debuted in second place with $20.6 million. John Travolta's firefighting drama "Ladder 49" slipped from second to third, taking in $13.3 million. The new Queen Latifah comedy "Taxi," which bears no relation to the classic sitcom of the same name, sped its way into fourth spot with $12.1 million. The sci-fi thriller "The Forgotten" rounded out the top five with $7.5 million. Rounding out the top ten were: "Raise Your Voice" ($4.6 million); "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" ($2.27 million); "Shaun of the Dead" ($1.59 million); "The Motorcycle Diaries" ($1.41 million); and "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" ($1.25 million).
