The official opposition is expressing concerns over Manitoba's rising alcohol taxes. Beer is already up $2 per case, wine will jump by nearly 70 cents per bottle and spirits are next, say the Progressive Conservatives. 'We're very concerned about what this means for manufacturers of beer, wine and spirits,' said Opposition Critic Cliff Cullen. 'It's a competitive market out there and local support for our local producers is in jeopardy. We cannot expect this substantial increase to come without consequences.' The PCs are calling on the NDP to take a closer look at spending before implementing more tax increases.
