Police are investigating whether there's any connection between human bones found outside Wabowden and two missing persons files that remain unsolved. Last month, fishermen discovered a partial skull, jawbone and two other bones on an island on Sipiwesk Lake outside Wabowden, north of Thompson. Wabowden and Cross Lake RCMP are reportedly investigating the discovery in connection with two area people who went missing in 1989 and 1994. The bones were found within 800 meters of a native burial site, police said. A medical examiner is inspecting the remains to determine the age and sex of the person.
