Authorities have recovered the body of a Cranberry Portage man who drowned after the excavator he was driving fell through the ice outside Cormorant. Police say Glen Mair, 36, was clearing a winter road when his excavator fell through the ice on a bog 26 kilometres northeast of Cormorant on Dec. 6. His body was retrieved from the cab of the excavator last Saturday, Dec. 18, at 11:30 p.m., police said. The Fire Commissioner's Office and Emergency Services coordinated the recovery efforts.
