Jonathon Naylor Editor Flin Flon sixth graders will be flying high as part of their learning this school year. The school board on Tuesday approved an offer from Wings Over Kississing to take Grade 6 students on a scenic flight over the Flin Flon area. Trustee Murray Skeavington, board chair, said details of the flights must still be worked out. But he said the concept fits in well with the Grade 6 curriculum, which includes a section on aviation. Trustee Glenn Smith said trustees needed to give their permission since the flights would require time off school and teacher supervision. Wings Over Kississing is an air charter service with its main base in Channing. It also has bases in Thompson, Lynn Lake, Churchill, and many strategic fuel caches. The company maintains a fleet of more than 10 aircraft equipped with real-time tracking systems. 'While we operate in the northern wilderness, our team brings the same level of service and attention to detail to our flight operations as you can expect from a premium vacation or business trip,' the company says on its website.
