The Northeast Regional Housing Authority board of directors out of Creighton hosted a special event to honour one of its members for long service.
Misty Willetts has served as a volunteer for 20 years and has recently retired from her position as chairperson.
Willetts received a certificate of recognition from the Government of Saskatchewan.
Roger Parenteau, director of Housing Authorities Network, made the presentation. He thanked Willetts and congratulated her for all the time given to her community and the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation.
Board members and friends were also on hand to congratulate her.
The Housing Authority participates in a network of 271 housing authorities throughout Saskatchewan that are responsible for the management of social and affordable housing for seniors, families and persons with disabilities who are in need of suitable accommodation.
Northeast Regional board members are representative of many Saskatchewan residents who invest in their communities with personal time and effort.
The Northeast Regional Housing Authority board of directors is responsible for 196 housing units within northeastern Saskatchewan.
Present members of the board of directors are Tamara Ballantyne (chair), Valerie Dixon, Eileen Blake, Luke Groenen and Kevin Morin.
Donna Jamieson is the housing authority manager.
