Trustees Jim Wilson and Colleen McKee will remain as chair and vice-chair respectively of the Flin Flon School Board. The board re-elected the pair to their positions at the regular board meeting on Wednesday evening. Wilson thanked the board for their support, adding that "I'm sure it's going to be an interesting and eventful year." Wilson was the only trustee nominated for the chair's position. His name was put forth by Trustee Gordon Mitchell. A secret ballot took place to elect the vice-chair, as Trustee Tim Davis nominated Trustee Angela Simpson and Trustee Donna Ferguson put forth Trustee McKee's name. Trustee Davis also nominated Trustee Mitchell, who did not allow his name to stand. School division Secretary-Treasurer Debbie Bongfeldt briefly served as the chair until Wilson again settled in to the chair's seat. Wilson first became a trustee in 1996 and was again elected to the board in 2002. McKee has sat on the board since 1998. Each will hold their positions for a one-year term. The election was the first order of business at Wednesday's board meeting. Following the election, the board reaffirmed that their meetings will continue to take place the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The meetings are held in the meeting room of the school division office, located in Ruth Betts School.
