Mariusz Zajac is one fisherman who isn't exaggerating when he insists he once caught a fish "this big." While ice-fishing on Tobin Lake outside Nipawin last month, the Catholic priest caught a world record 18-lb. walleye. Father Zajac, a Carrot River resident who has been known to call himself Father Walleye, snared the walloper on Jan. 4 about a mile north of the Tobin Lake resort village. The walleye reportedly weighed in at 18.3 lbs., a new world record. The story has attracted international attention and made Father Zajac the envy of anglers everywhere.
