Construction is well underway on a new seniors apartment complex in Creighton. The $842,000 Bedrock Manor, located behind the Trailer Court, is expected to be completed in May 2005. The one-storey, 12-suite affordable housing initiative is designed to serve Creighton seniors with low to modest incomes. Bedrock Manor is being built by Prince Albert-based R.L. Miller Contracting Ltd., which will also own and manage the facility. Project funding was made possible through a partnership between the developer, the Town of Creighton and the two higher levels of government. This partnership raised the approximately $842,000 required for the project, nearly two-thirds of which came from the Centenary Affordable Housing Program, which involves the three levels of government. The Town of Creighton has contributed land, sewer and water services, while the developer has privately financed the balance of the total funding.
