A would-be barbecue turned disastrous Sunday when discharging propane turned the grill into a potent flame thrower. No one was injured as fire spewed some five feet from the left side of the barbecue, burning a hole through the side of the deck and melting siding on the Green St. home. "The flames were shooting right into the middle of the road," said neighbourhood resident Rikki Slugoski. "It was pretty scary." When the owner ignited the barbecue Sunday evening, he noticed flames shooting underneath the grill, the Flin Flon Fire Dept. said. The heat from those flames caused the propane tank to vent, providing spouting fuel for the fire. "There was nothing left of the barbecue" when firefighters arrived, said Lieut. Albert Murphy.
