Hapnot Collegiate's band program will continue to churn out harmonious tunes, despite a rumour to the contrary. A Hapnot Collegiate student informed The Reminder of a rumour that the band program would have to be axed as a result of the Creighton School Board's decision to establish full high school programming in Creighton. "There's no truth in that at all," said Flin Flon Superintendent of Schools Blaine Veitch. "We will still have a band and we'll still have a choir without the Creighton students." The assurance comes as welcome news to the band students, many of whom are passionate about the course and its benefits. Three Saskatchewan students are currently enrolled in band at Hapnot. The Creighton School Board plans to add grades 10, 11 and 12 to Creighton Community School, one year at a time, beginning this September.
