A unique awareness campaign to promote breast health will be introduced to the Flin Flon area tomorrow, October 5. The Link To Pink campaign is being organized by the NOR-MAN Region Breast Cancer Support Network. Volunteers for the support group will be visiting places in the community where women would normally congregate. They will hand out a pink carnation donated by Christie's Flowers and Wedding Wishes, an information brochure, and a breast self-examine shower card donated by Wal-Mart. This awareness campaign was begun in The Pas last year and, this year, it will be expanding to Flin Flon, Snow Lake and Grand Rapids in the North, along with Brandon, Interlake and Parkland. The expansion of the Link To Pink campaign was made possible after Breast Action Manitoba received federal funding from the Canadian Cancer Foundation. For further information about breast health, please phone 687-1340.4/10/04
