Seven ambitious Creighton Community School students were honoured at a school assembly this week.

Last spring, students applied for the Northern Saskatchewan Student Achievement awards by writing essays documenting their achievements over the year.

A panel of staff members evaluated the student submissions based on criteria such as effort to succeed, academic achievement, awareness and pride in northern lifestyles and heritage, and leadership within the school or community.

Outstanding students from grades 7 to 12 were eligible for the awards, which include a cash prize.

The awards were presented on Wednesday.
