The Aviva Community Fund is once again looking to help communities upgrade. The group has $1,000,000 to give away to community projects including ideas like parks, animal shelters, and youth centres. The campaign starts with a simple request. It requires a submitted idea for a project to help develop or build a community. The current Flin Flon Skatepark was once an Aviva Community Fund idea. The suggestion was submitted and then entered into the first round of voting in search of funding for the overall cost of the project. The Fund has also helped programs in the past like summer camps, recreation facilities, and playgrounds. The first round of this year's voting will begin on Monday and continue to October 14. Ideas are encouraged for this year's campaign. Last year alone 30 projects across Canada were helped.
