The pig roasting on a spit will be the first sign that next week's dance at Hapnot Collegiate isn't your everyday extracurricular get-together. On Tuesday, Hapnot Student Council will put on a "Luol," consisting of a pork and produce meal in the parking lot and a dance in the gymnasium. "We're doing a lot of new things this year just to kind of get the school spirit up, so we figured why not go out with a bang," said Jenni Jones, student council public relations director. With the help of a parent council member, students will take turns overseeing the roasting pig beginning at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. By the time the Luol gets underway at 7 p.m., the swine will be nicely prepared and ready for serving. Also part of supper, to be enjoyed under a canopy tent, will be fruits, vegetables, and punch. After eating, students will head to the gymnasium to enjoy their year-end dance, complete with a limbo. Students may purchase their tickets at the Hapnot office.5/14/2004
