Karen Cornelius, a printmaker and new-media artist based in Winnipeg, will speak at the NorVA Centre tonight as part of NorVA’s Artist Talk series.

In her presentation, Cornelius will look at the dynamics of including community input and participation in the development of public murals.

The talk is timely: Cornelius will be working on a large outdoor installation at Ruth Betts Community School
this fall.

NorVA artist Karen Clark noted that Cornelius’ plan is to include as many stakeholders as possible in the Ruth Betts project.

“It is very exciting,” says Clark. “Artist Anne Bergen will also be working on the same project in the spring and using the same inclusive method with mosaic installations on the piece.”

Both Bergen and Cornelius have led art workshops at NorVA and at local schools in recent years

Cornelius’ artist talk will begin at 7 pm tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the NorVA Centre.
