Mounties in Lynn Lake are investigating an arson that claimed the northern Manitoba town's Anglican Church. At about 4:00 a.m. on Monday, Lynn Lake RCMP and local emergency services were dispatched to a fire at the church. Upon arrival, police and the local volunteer Fire Department found the church fully engulfed in flames. The building could not be saved, and damages are estimated to be over $200,000. Investigation has revealed the fire to be an arson. Lynn Lake RCMP were also dispatched to several other small fires around the community around the same time. These fires caused minimal damage to the structures and have been determined to be arson as well. Lynn Lake RCMP, with help from the Thompson Major Crime Unit, are investigating these fires. Anyone with information on these fires is asked to call their local police detachment or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
