Jonathon Naylor Editor Arson is believed to be behind a blaze that ripped through a child and family services building on the northern reserve of Norway House. Last Thursday, Jan. 3, at about 8:30 a.m., Mounties and firefighters were dispatched to a fire at the Kinosao Sipi Minisowin Agency building. No one was in the building at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries. At the time, new extensions were being added to the large building. Police said the fire is considered an arson. A damage estimate was not immediately available but it is believed damages will be in excess of $1 million. Norway House RCMP, with help from the Thompson RCMP Major Crime Unit, the Manitoba North Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team and the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner, continued to investigate last week. Authorities ask anyone with information to contact the Norway House RCMP at (204) 359-6715 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Norway House is a community of about 5,500 people located 190 air kilometres south of Thompson.
