Two men arrested for robbing the Co-op gas station yesterday may be connected to a string of recent thefts across the Prairie Provinces, police said. Flin Flon RCMP have charged the suspects, both in their 30s, with stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from an office in the Main Street gas station at about 12:40 p.m. yesterday. One of the men distracted the teller while the other entered the office and nabbed the money, said police. RCMP stopped the suspects' vehicle between Flin Flon and Cranberry Portage and arrested the men not long after the robbery. Cst. James Munroe said the police investigation has indicated that the suspects are connected to "numerous other thefts" across the Prairies. The men, who were apprehended with the help of Cranberry Portage RCMP, were in custody in Flin Flon yesterday afternoon. The investigation continues.
