A Flin Flon man was arrested Saturday after trying to take a swing at a staff member outside The Unwinder with a pen knife in hand, report the RCMP. The incident culminated an altercation that began when the 26-year-old suspect returned to the bar shortly after staff told him to leave, police said. Staffers proceeded to escort the man off the premises, but he resisted. When the men were outside, police said, the suspect took a swing at one of the workers but his arm was caught in mid-swing by another employee. Three workers obtained the weapon and subdued the man until officers could arrive, according to police. The suspect, whom police said was under the influence of alcohol, was arrested shortly after midnight and spent the night in custody. RCMP charged the suspect with assault with a weapon and three counts of breach of recognizance from at least one prior offense. He is slated to appear in Flin Flon Provincial Court on April 8. Police are continuing with their investigation into this incident and plan to gather more statements. More charges against the suspect may be pending.
