A 16-year-old male is in custody after allegedly stabbing another teen on Callinan Street April 1.

Flin Flon RCMP arrived at a home around 9 p.m. after reports that someone had been stabbed. After arriving at the property, police found a 16-year-old man inside suffering from a stab wound that a RCMP news release described as "life-threatening". An officer provided first aid for the victim, applying pressure to stop bleeding before paramedics arrived.

The youth was taken to hospital, where he remains in stable but critical condition.

Not long after the initial attack, officers located a suspect, another 16-year-old male. The suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and multiple bail violations. He is scheduled to make a court appearance in provincial court in The Pas April 4.

The suspect cannot be named, as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act. RCMP are investigating the incident.
