Police in The Pas hope to nab the culprits behind a string of armed robberies dating back more than nine months. Knife-brandishing thieves have targeted five The Pas businesses over the past several months, making off with hundreds of dollars. The latest incident occurred on Nov. 30 at 12:15 a.m. when a lone male entered Pyrgo's Pizza and, at knife point, demanded the clerk open the till. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The assailant was described as 5'8" to 5'10", wearing a red bandana over his face and a blue and gray NFL jacket. Also at large is the lone male who robbed at knife point the Snackland Convenience Store at 5:50 p.m. on Nov. 22. This male was described as between 5'7" and 5'9", wearing a red bandana over his face, a red and black 'lumberjack style' jacket and gray wind pants. Police continue to seek tips relating to two other robberies and an attempted robbery that occurred earlier this year: February 26, 7:48 p.m.: A lone male entered Broadway Confectionary and at knife point demanded cash from the till. He made off with an undisclosed amount of money. He was described as 6'2" to 6'3", wearing a dark blue trench coat, a black toque and a blue bandana over his face. March 6, 12:50 a.m.: A lone male attempted to rob the vendor of the Town Centre hotel at knife point but fled the scene after being struck on the head with a pool cue. He was described as 5'8" to 6", wearing all dark clothing with plastic bags over his shoes and a bag over his head. March 13, 9 p.m.: A lone male entered the Petro Canada gas bar and demanded money from the till at knife point. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The assailant was described as 5'10" to 6", wearing a blue hoody and black neck warmer over his face. He also wore baggy blue jeans. The Pas RCMP ask anyone with information on any of these incidents to contact them at (204) 627-6200 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
