The name of the soon-to-be President and CEO of Ontzinc Corp. is one many Flin Flonners will recognize. HBMS President and CEO Peter Jones will assume the position with Ontzinc once the company completes its anticipated purchase of Flin Flon's largest employer. Jones takes over after Ontzinc Chairman and CEO Gregory J. Peebles resigned his post last week, walking away with a $500,000 severance payment. Peter George, the current Ontzinc president, will carry out the CEO duties until the sale is completed and Jones takes over. Ontzinc, a Toronto-based company, plans to conclude the $325-million transaction by the end of the year. Ontzinc will be renamed Hudson Bay Minerals Inc. once the sale goes through.
