Creighton RCMP will be shifting its enforcement efforts over the next 12 months.

The detachment also released its annual performance plan (APP) for the 2018-19 fiscal year.

“The new APP goals for the Creighton detachment have not changed a whole lot from the previous year,” reads a monthly report issued by RCMP.

“The plan is working and overall crime rates are on the decline.”

The detachment plans to draw back the number of curfew checks detachment members perform, going from a goal of 1,000 over the past year to 400 over the next 12 months, due to a decrease in the number of offenders.

Another key change is shifting focus on traffic enforcement, going from prioritizing speeding to targeting vehicle defects. The detachment will also aim to increase boat patrols and to crack down on unsafe boat use.

Priority remand goals and check stops will remain the same. Since the new APP was put into practice, the detachment has reported 33 curfew checks and two priority remands.
