Jonathon Naylor Editor Flinty will enter the animated age tonight as part of the Culture Days celebrations. The pudgy professor will appear in animated form on a projection screen to be set up in the Jubilee Heated Tent next to the Flin Flon Community Hall. 'It's just a way to bring technology in and to do something that nobody else has done,' Katrina Windjack of the Flin Flon Arts Council, which is organizing Culture Days, told the Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday. Windjack noted that the animated Flinty will be seen performing actions such as mining and climbing out of his submarine. Whenever someone sends a pre-approved message to the Flin Flon Culture Days Twitter account, the text will appear as a speech bubble 'spoken' by Flinty. Windjack said the hope is the interactive display will help Culture Days reach a new generation of people. In an unrelated matter at the chamber meeting, held at the Friendship Centre Restaurant, President Kory Eastman announced that the Sept. 22 radio auction fundraiser generated $7,818. He said that is a similar amount compared to the last couple of years, though some expenses must still be paid. Chamber volunteers broadcast the auction on CFAR, selling a range of items, donated by local businesses, to the highest bidder.
