For the second time in as many days, the services of Snow Lake's RCMP have been required outside of the community. On Monday, June 7, at 9:30 a.m., officers from the Snow Lake detachment received a report of overdue fisherman from the camp attendant at Reed Lake. "The attendant advised that three males had departed the campground at Reed Lake, by boat, on Friday, June 4 and were destined for Woosey Creek at the northeast end of Reed Lake," said spokesman Constable Don Arsenault. "The fishermen were scheduled to return on the 6th, however, failed to arrive. There was some concern for their safety due to inclement weather and poor conditions on the lake." Arsenault stated that a member of the Snow Lake RCMP attended the area and with the assistance of Gogal Air Services, out of Snow Lake, conducted a brief search for the individuals. "At approximately 12:35 p.m., the fishermen were located safe on Reed Lake," said the officer. "The individuals, all from Southern Manitoba, advised that they had intended to come back on Sunday, but due to the weather they had decided to delay their return."
