Science can be fun, as students at Flin Flon's elementary schools have been finding out. Ecole McIsaac School and Ruth Betts Community School are hosting two 'science ambassadors' in Loui Poon and Mohamed Cassem. Poon is a chemist who is completing his Master's degree, while Cassem, an electrical engineer from Egypt, is finishing his Master's in physics. They have been working with students from grades 1-8, running experiments involving glow-in-the-dark slime, multi-coloured flames, sound, simple machine forces and more. Superintendent of Schools Blaine Veitch said the students and teachers are really enjoying these activities. Hudbay is providing temporary accommodations at the staffhouse for both Poon and Cassem.
