A longtime Flin Flon firefighter has joined the national board of the Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association (CVFSA).
Bradley Davidson assumed the position of provincial director for Manitoba effective last Friday, July 1.
A CVFSA news release noted Davidson currently serves as company officer of the Hudbay Fire Department, of which he has been a member for 28 years. He also served nine years as a volunteer firefighter with the City of Flin Flon.
“Bradley brings to the board a vast array of training and education, including firefighting, emergency response and emergency management while serving as a company officer,” read the release. “He is involved as an instructor and investigator on the [Hudbay Fire Department], having served on the hazardous-materials response team as a technician since the early ’90s.”
Davidson has completed the Fire Service Management certificate in Fire Service Leadership from Dalhousie University. He has also met National Fire Protection Association standards for professional qualifications as a fire Investigator, fire and life safety educator, emergency services instructor and incident safety officer.
“Bradley will work closely with the Manitoba fire service to ensure that they are represented adequately on the national stage,” the release noted.
Davidson is a second-generation firefighter, as his father Roy also served as a City of Flin Flon firefighter.
The CVFSA is a national organization created to benefit the community by maintaining and strengthening Canadian volunteer fire services through the provision of education and training, administration and organizational standards.
