Jonathon Naylor Editor There's a new propane boss in Flin Flon. Last week, Al Shirran took over as branch manager of Stittco Energy Ltd. "I'm kind of looking forward to trying it," said Shirran. A former mechanic, Shirran has been with Stittco for 26 years. His tasks have included everything from converting cars to propane fuel, to installing and maintaining furnaces. With no firm plans for retirement, Shirran will stick with Stittco for a few more years yet. "It's a great bunch of guys and girls, and everybody's easy to get along with," he said. "It's a good outfit to work for." Shirran replaces former manager Warren Braaten, who opted for a well-deserved retired. Headquartered in Calgary, Stittco has operated in northern Manitoba, northern Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories for more than 35 years. In Flin Flon, the company employs 11 workers.10/8/11
