43 years ago, the Flin Flon Bombers were on wrong end of record

It was a game Flin Flon Bombers fans would rather forget, but it was nonetheless historic. On Oct. 7, 1972, as his Medicine Hat Tigers played Flin Flon, Boyd Anderson scored five goals in just three minutes and seven seconds.

On Oct. 7, 1972, as his Medicine Hat Tigers played Flin Flon, Boyd Anderson scored five goals in just three minutes and seven seconds. That broke the league record for the fastest five goals in an WHL game by an individual.

That tidbit was recently included on the WHL website’s Throwback Thursdays feature. It was noted the Bombers went on to lose the game 10-1.
