Darcy Salamandra really went ‘fore!’ it at the 2016 Tri-Service Million Dollar Hole In One.
Salamandra won the event’s playoffs on Sunday evening, July 10, taking home the top prize of a VIP weekend pass for two to Dauphin’s 2017 Countryfest.
He bested two other finalists in Harold Harris and Grant McLuckie.
Harris won a return Calm Air flight from Flin Flon to Winnipeg along with a gift card from Halcrow Lake Golf and Country Club in The Pas.
McLuckie won gift cards from Halcrow Lake Golf and Country Club, Rocky View BnB, North of 53 Consumers Co-op, Funky Threadz in The Pas and the Viscount Gort Hotel in Winnipeg.
For earning a place in the playoffs, Salamandra also won a return Calm Air flight from Flin Flon to Winnipeg and a gift card from the Big Dipper.
The playoffs took place on the ninth hole of Phan-tom Lake Golf Course following six days of preliminary rounds on the driving range that saw 72 golfers participate. Golfers who landed their ball closest to the pin took home prizes.
Taking first place on days one and two was Jason Werbicki. Dennis Hyndman won day three, with Scott Greenwood capturing day four. Winning days five and six were Dan Reagan and Shawn Fraser respectively.
Finishing first on the Ladies’ Board was Stacy Hyndman. Gage Gogal led the Junior Board.
The event is a fundraiser for the Tri-Service Club, which consists of the Rotary, Lions and Kinsmen clubs.
