19-year-old arrested, facing attempted murder charge after stabbing

A 19-year-old Flin Flon man is facing charges including attempted murder after a man was left at Flin Flon General Hospital with stab wounds.

The incident took place Sept. 27. Flin Flon RCMP were called around 6 p.m. when a man was dropped off at the hospital with multiple stab wounds. The man, an unidentified 25-year-old male from Denare Beach, was later flown out of Flin Flon for further medical treatment. His injuries were considered life-threatening by RCMP. The man has since been released from hospital.

Two hours after the initial call, officers arrested 19-year-old Jordan Stewart of Flin Flon and remanded him into police custody. Stewart is facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and two counts of failure to comply with conditions.

Stewart will appear in court Oct. 13.

RCMP are continuing to investigate the incident.
