The characters in Armstrong’s War share a name and, by the end of the play, a journey that leads the disparate pair to find common ground. The Royal Manitoba Theatre Company brought the production to the RH Channing Auditorium on Friday, Feb. 6. Heather Russell portrayed Halley Armstrong, a Girl Guide in the same Canadian rehabilitation hospital as Cpl. Michael Armstrong, who was played by Justin Otto. Halley’s determination to earn her community service badge by reading to the Afghanistan veteran breaks through his reluctance and leads the pair on a journey of understanding.Kelly Oswald
