In response to the COVID-19, the Flin Flon School Division (FFSD) will postpone all extracurricular events.

Students from the division are currently attending several out-of-town extracurricular events, including band students in Dauphin at a honour band event and including the Hapnot junior varsity Kings basketball team. The club travelled to Carberry for provincials Thursday, but the provincial tournament was cancelled following the team’s first game.

Future extracurricular events, including a Grade 8 ski trip March 17, will be cancelled. No FFSD facilities will be open in the evenings for outside groups or causes.

Some in-school events, including the upcoming Heritage Fair, will be cancelled. This year's Heritage Fair was scheduled to take place at École McIsaac School March 19. Drinking fountains will be closed off, with students and staff asked to bring a bottle and use water bottle fillers instead.

Family-teacher interviews will be cancelled along with a scheduled awards ceremony. Report cards will be sent home March 17 as scheduled.

The Manitoba government has announced all schools across the province will be shut down for three weeks starting March 23, including two weeks of classes. The closure will include the regularly scheduled spring break for students and staff. The closure will also include Kindervention. Staff are expected to attend schools as normal.
