Artists from northern Manitoba (north of the 53rd parallel) are invited to participate in the 40th annual Northern Juried Art Show.
The Pas will host the show April 7 to 9 at the UCN gymnasium. Deadline for entries is Friday, Mar. 18.
First-, second- and third-place prizes will be given out in 10 categories as well as for best of show, people’s choice and a special award category called “Call of the North.”
Categories range from oil paintings to digital and fibre arts. Two youth categories have been expanded, for ages 9 to 12 and 13 to 17, and youth participants may earn a scholarship to the International Music Camp Visual Arts Program at the International Peace Gardens.
It’s all to help celebrate the show’s 40th anniversary and to encourage the development of a new generation of artists.
This is an opportunity for artists to enter their work into competition and have it adjudicated by professional artists from across Manitoba. This year’s adjudicators are Tom Andrich, Leona Brown and Tim Schouten.
The deadline for the artwork to reach the drop-off depots is Monday, March 21. Free shipping to The Pas is provided from the depots located throughout the North. In Flin Flon, the NorVA Centre (177 Green Street) is the drop-off depot.
