Are you ready to busk, musicians?

Fresh off the success of its first ever summer music event, Flin Flon Neighbourhood Revitalization Corporation is hoping for a prompt follow-up.

FFNRC hosted the inaugural edition of Busking Amped at Pioneer Square last month. The idea was to hold Flin Flon’s largest ever outdoor open mike session.

That goal may have well been achieved as over a dozen musicians participated while about 60 people of all ages took in the performances.

Thanks to a lot of networking by event organizer Samuel  Dufour-Jarvis, Busking Amped boasted a strong array of musicians in a wide range of genres.

Though some were familiar faces from Flin Flon’s thriving coffee house scene, there was also a strong contingent from Flin Flon’s “musicians in exile” – amazing homegrown talents who spend their winters far to the south at places like the Brandon School of Music.

FFNRC hopes to hold a second Busking Amped event in mid-August, if musicians are willing. Further information is available by calling 204-687-6972.
