Just as the weather turns chillier, more than a dozen lucky winners have a chance to escape to warmer pastures.
With vacation packages to the likes of Hawaii and Cuba up for grabs, the Rotary Club of Flin Flon’s Dream Draw took place Monday at the RH Channing Auditorium.
Gene and Geri Kostuchuk took the top prize, a seven-night trip for two to sunny Hawaii worth $4,500.
The second prize, a trip to Mexico valued at $4,000, went to Donna Geist and Tricia Mymko, while Aimee MacCullan will get out the suntan lotion in Cuba, a $3,500 value.
Denise and Mark Whitford can go to the Bahamas, a prize worth $3,300, while Denice Yewchuk earned an excursion to the Dominican Republic worth $3,200.
Kaiti Keramydas is headed south to Florida after winning a $2,500 trek to the Sunshine State.
Guy Rideout may be hedging his bets after Lady Luck awarded him a $2,400 excursion to Las Vegas.
Another exciting destination awaits Harvey and Barb Erickson, who won the chance to travel to sunny Palm Springs, Florida, a $2,300 value.
The weather is also pleasant in Phoenix, Arizona, where Cody Herzberg and Stacey Bongfeldt can head after winning a $2,200 prize.
Finally, Bernie Berglund has a date with Mickey Mouse after winning the last prize, a $2,100 trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
All trips are for two people and include hotel, flights out of Winnipeg or Saskatoon, and meals. The top five trips are for one week, while the remainder are for three days.
Each winner can take the prize as is or claim 75 per cent of its cash value.
The lucky winners aren’t the only ones smiling. Having sold all 499 Dream Draw tickets, the Rotary Club expects to generate about $17,000 from the fundraiser.
Proceeds have been earmarked for Rotary scholarships, seniors’ housing and the club’s Seniors’ Christmas Party.
