For decades it has ranked among Flin Flon’s most venerable social occasions.
And this year’s installment of the St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Parish Bazaar was no exception.
Last Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25, upwards of 500 people passed through the R.H. Channing Auditorium for the church fundraiser.
“It was an overall success, that’s for sure,” said Lucille Rossington, co-convenor along with Donna Coles.
A combination marketplace and tea, the bazaar featured a series of retail booths and a “tea room,” a cordoned-off area where guests dined on tea, sandwiches and dainties.
Visual
Visitors enjoyed a very visual experience as the auditorium was decked out in an autumn theme, complete with scarecrows, pumpkins and orange leaves.
Organizers were still tallying a total on Monday, but Rossington hoped to hit the typical target of around $10,000 for what is St. Ann’s largest fundraiser of the year.
Upwards of 70 church volunteers helped out during the bazaar, with others lending a hand in the lead-up to the event.
Among the items for sale at the booths were popcorn treats, bird feeders and hand-knitted wares.
While many visitors got some early Christmas shopping done, the atmosphere was by no means hectic.
