Approximately 100 seniors, members of the North Sask Seniors and the Denare Beach New Horizons clubs, enjoyed a delicious Christmas supper catered to by Creighton's Pizza on Sunday, December 7 at the Creighton Community Hall. The president, Helen Schaff, welcomed the guests and acted as M.C. for the program that followed. Inez Angelski said grace. Three skits kept the audience laughing. In each skit seniors were portrayed in a different setting from RJ's Restaurant, and a trailer court in Texas to a home of a Norwegian Canadian in Saskatchewan. Those taking part in the skits were Sophie and John Ostrowski, Inez Angelski, Anna Abrahamson, Fern Kozak, Vesti Lamb, Ruby Lenderbeck, and Eloise McLean. In between skits Ann Henry read some of the poems she has composed, and Isabel Gibson gave a reading. Six old maids sang a humourous song with Fern Kozak accompaniest. Taking part were Vesi Lamb, Julie Chambers, Dot Hammel, Phyllis MacKenzie, and Philomena Fernandes. Whist results from December 8 were as follows: ladies first Vasti lamb 140, second Jean Pazdzierski 135, third Mary Brown 133; gents first Iris Wiebe 138, second Fern Kozak 134, third Nellie Jebson 130 Spades results from December 11: ladies first Effie Todoschuk 834, second Ruth Roncin 798, third Doris Biletski 782, fourth Evelyn McConnell 551; gents first Phyllis MacKenzie 790, second Nellie Jebson 771, third Stella Chrupalo 756, fourth Chris Anderson 520 There will be a Spades tournament December 27.
