Ottavio Budai Peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2006 Ottavio passed away at the Flin Flon General Hospital, age 70 years, surrounded by family who loved him. Ottavio was born in Faugles Udine, Italy on Wednesday, January 1, 1936 to a loving family of four brothers, two sisters, his parents, Luigi and Ines Budai. In 1957 at the age of 21, Ottavio came to Canada and eventually made his way to the northern community of Cranberry Portage, which became his home. His charismatic humourous way won him the heart of Grace Richardson and the two remained together until his final days. Ottavio was loved by his family and his community, he will be greatly missed. Ottavio now joins his mother Ines and his father Luigi as well as a few close friends. He leaves to treasure his memory; his loving partner Grace; her children John (June); Laura (Gilbert); Louise; Richard (Nancy); Patrick: Shane (Tracey); Kelly (Donna). His family in Italy; brother Piedro; brother Aldo; sister Imelda; brother Arduino; brother Orlando; sister Daniela; and all their family. The Canadian grandchildren; Tisha (Richard); Melissa (Corey); Aaron (Sue); Jessica (Tony); Brett (Lindsay); Neal (Erin); Stacy (Darryl); Kori (Rob); Ramsey; Connor; Wade. The Canadian great grandchildren; Shauna; Laura Louise; Darcy; Jack; Morgan; John Brody; Zane; Rowyn; Robbie; Nash; Gibb. The funeral service was held Wednesday, January 11, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Frontier Collegiate Auditorium, Cranberry Portage, Manitoba with Rev. Denis Bourbonnais, O.M.I. (under the auspices of the Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church, Cranberry Portage). Pianist and Vocals: Bernice Hay and Darlene Lothian. amily Eulogist: Stacy Richardson.Friend Eulogist: Gordon Kosmenko. Invitation To Speak: Norma Moodie. Following the service, a reception was held at the Cranberry Portage Elementary School Gymnasium. Urn bearer was Stacy Richardson. Memorial book attendants were Marvin and Lilianne Erickson. Honourary pallbearers were all who knew and loved Ottavio and all the "Jiggy's" and "Lilly Witch's". If friends so desire, donations to the Children's Wish Foundation, Manitoba Chapter, 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 3J2 would be appreciated by Ottavio's family. Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, Manitoba, were in care of arrangements.
