Dorothy Glover passed away on July 25, 2006 at Flin Flon General Hospital at the age of 93. She was born in Old School House Far Forest Rock, Worestershire, England. Dorothy met Adam, her husband, during the war. They were married in 1940. Three children were born in England: Gordon, Pamela and Gerald. After the war Dorothy and children came to Fort Ernie on the Queen Mary. Adam found a job in Flin Flon. Dorothy, the three children and new baby came to Flin Flon and had six more children. Dorothy spent most of her years caring for her family. She enjoyed picking raspberries and blueberries. In 1970 she went to work as a dishwasher at the Flin Flon Hotel. She retired at the age of 72. Dorothy joined the War Brides Association. She enjoyed attending the War Brides reunions in Brandon with her daughter Margaret. Dorothy was a member of North Star 31 Rebekah Lodge. She gave her support to the Crisis Centre and the Food Bank. Dorothy's last ten years she moved in with her daughter Karen and family. She enjoyed her grandchildren and Lawrence (Bimbo) could always make her laugh. Dorothy attended the Northern Lights Manor Senior Sports Program. Dorothy was predeceased by sisters Elsie, Edith, Gertrude, Nora, Minnie (Queenie); brothers William (Bill), Harold, Jack; husband Adam Murray; sons Gerald and Adam John. Left to mourn her death are Gordon (Pat) Glover, Pamela (Tony) Csapo, Maureen (Wayne) Harrison, Margaret (Ken) Deonarine, Thelma (John) Trotz, Ellen (Denis) Geer, Susan (Mike) Garuk, Karen (Lawrence) McKay, 23 grandchildren and her great grandchildren; her family in England, brother Ken Smith, sister Ida Winnal, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Dorothy was held Monday, July 31, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Peter/St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Clare Edwards officiating. Active pallbearers were Tom McKay, Danny Deonarine, Harry Glover, John Trotz, Andrew Deonarine and Charles Csapo. Honourary pallbearers were all her friends and family. Memorial register attendant was Ellen McFarlane. Following the graveside service at Hillside Cemetery, lunch was served by the Rebekahs in the St. Peter/St. James Anglican Church Hall. Dadson Funeral Home Ltd. was entrusted with the arrangements.
