Richard (Dick) Earnest Cockle Born January 19, 1924, in London, England Went fishing forever in his sleep September 22, 2004 in Strathmore Hospital with his family at his side. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Joanne. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lauretta; his children, Dianna (Glen) Bartley of Snow Lake, Manitoba, Rick (Marg) Cockle of Thompson, Manitoba, Randy (Margie) Cockle of Snow Lake, Manitoba, Karen (Charlie) Wilkie of Strathmore, Alberta; grandchildren, Troy (Shayna), Kari (Zane), Donna (Brad), Cory (Dennis), Shane (Cheryl), Jodi (Jack), Jamie (Sarah) and Dustin; great grandchildren, Taryn, Ryland, Brian and Zachary, Shane and Kiara. Richard and his family emigrated from England at the age of 3. He grew up on the farm in Leross, Saskatchewan with his 12 brothers and sisters. He married his soul mate October 25, 1947. He moved to Snow Lake in 1960 and spent his life working hard in the mining industry and raising his four children. He devoted many hours volunteering in all aspects of his family, work and community life from Union President to Rifle Club. He retired in 1982 from HBM&S Co. and spent the next 22 years living his life between the cabin in Snow Lake, MB, Strathmore, AB, and Yuma, Arizona. Although he suffered many odd and unusual ailments he always maintained a cheerful and positive attitude. He never gave up and waited until he was surrounded by his family to say his farewell and go to meet his maker. You will be sadly missed but never gone. LOVE YOU!!!
