Philip Raymond Einarson On Thursday, August 2, 2007 Philip Raymond Einarson of Nelson passed away at the age of 72 years. Phil was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1935 and moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba with his parents as a young baby. They lived in Creighton, Saskatchewan where he helped with the fishing of H & E Construction until he left school upon graduation from Hapnot Collegiate. Phil took his first year of university where he learned to fly and received his pilot's licence. In 1957 he met Kathleen Vanderwal and they were married in 1958. Phil worked for Monarch Life Assurance for four years and then left to start a journey with Sears until he retired in Nelson, BC. Phil worked with the Lions Club in Flin Flon for many years and was also a director for the Flin Flon Credit Union until he left for Nelson, BC. Phil then started with Wal-Mart as a greeter, where he was well liked by the public, retiring after 11 years. Phil is survived by his wife Kathleen Einarson; three sons Kerry Scott Einarson (Gabrielle), Ward Randall Einarson (Cheryl), Kevin Lee Einarson (Lillian); one daughter Laura Rae (Einarson) Hansch (Norbert); six grandchildren, Kathleen, Johnathan, Meagan, Curtis, Sara and Samantha; his mother Edna Valgudur Einarson; sister-in-law Sjaane Thompson of California. Phil was predeceased by his father Oliver Gudjon Einarson; his brother Malcolm Einarson and brother John Einarson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Service, 613 Ward Street, Nelson with Dr. Rosalyn Grady as celebrant. As an expression of sympathy, family and friends may make donations to the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation, 3 View Street, Nelson, BC V1L 2V1. Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Funeral Service Ltd.
