Alexander Krassilowsky of Flin Flon, Manitoba passed away August 26, 2005, at the age of 81 years. He was born Monday, February 25, 1924, in The Pas, MB, to Paul and Elizabeth Krassilowsky and lived most of his life in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He served in the R.C.N.V.R on the frigate Royal Mount during World War II. He was stationed in Galt, Ontario where he met and married Eva Marie Urbach (July 1, 1944). Upon his discharge in 1945, Alex and Eva moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba which became their home. Alex was employed as a boilermaker at HBM&S until his retirement on February 28, 1982. He was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts, Flin Flon Dart Club, Flin Flon Royal Canadian Legion Branch #73, and the I.O.O.B. He enjoyed his darts, fishing, his family times and times with his comrades. Alex was predeceased by his father Paul, mother Elizabeth, brothers Vic Peter, George, Cecil and Norman, his sister Edna May, and his granddaughter Carol Groff. He is survived by his wife Eva; sister Eva Keenahan and son Sean; his sons Allan (Donna) and David (Shawn); his daughters Linda (Nestor), Theresa, Diane (Larry), Judy (Chandice), Patsy (Neil), Nadine (Ron) and Denise (Darin); his 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, August 29, 2005 from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church with Father Denis Bourbonnais, OMI, officiating. Honourary pallbearers were members of the Northern Flytes Dart Club. Active pallbearers were Jack Rigby, Robert Penner, Gordie McIntyre, Grant Adams, Alex Graham and Don Zollen. Soloist was Susan Lethbridge. Allan Krassilowsky presented a remembrance of Alex. Memorial register attendants were Jack and Joanne Turner. Ushers were Dawn Roberts, Ron Barrow, Jeanette Smith and Cindy Best. Legion Rites were performed by President Jack Rigby and Sgt. At Arms Don Zollen. Following interment at Hillside Cemetery, lunch was served by the CWL and Legion Ladies Auxiliary at St. Ann's hall. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #73 Poppy Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society. Dadson Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. At this time the family would like to express our deepest gratitude to all our neighbours, friends, co-workers and comrades for all their expressions of sympathy. Special thanks to Dr. Kucparic, Home Care staff, Mona and the staff on the Flin Flon General Hospital third floor for all their caring, help and support.
