JONES, Madeline Lorraine (nee Mitchell) It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Madeline announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, May 6, 2010 in her home in Creighton, Saskatchewan at the age of 77 years. Madeline was dearly loved and will be remembered by her four children: Jessie (Jack) Glenn of Strathclair, Manitoba; Lorraine (Merv) Snyder of Creighton, Saskatchewan; Pat (Charney) Jones of Creighton, Saskatchewan, and Rena (Lon) Hartle of Calgary, Alberta. She is also remembered by her grandchildren Angela (Brian) Cook, Melissa (Robyn) Murach, John (Amanda) Glenn, Shayna (Jason) Miles-Ingram, Nikki St Denis, Michael Jones, Gary (Britt) Jones, Jenni Jones, Zack Hartle and AJ Hartle and her great-grandchildren Brian Cook; Logan, Riley and Tyler Murach; Emily and Jessie Glenn; Kevin, Quinn and Trinity Miles-Ingram; Caiden St Denis; Maddy and Ethan Jones and her beloved dog Patches. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Madeline was predeceased by her husband Percy in 1995 and her granddaughter Samantha in 2009. Mom was born in Swan River, Manitoba on September 5, 1932. She spent her youth and early adulthood in the surrounding area until her marriage to Percy on June 30, 1951. They spent the first few years together in and around Horizon, Saskatchewan. Their first two daughters, Jessie and Lorraine, were born in Swan River. Madeline and Percy moved to the Flin Flon area in the mid 1950's. They resided on Boam Street until purchasing their first and only house in Creighton in 1956. Subsequently their second two children, Pat and Rena, were born in the Flin Flon Hospital. They raised their four children in the community. Mom was a woman of tremendous warmth, kindness and generosity. Mom was always there for her family and friends. She was happiest when her whole family was around her. Her life revolved around family, baking, gardening and bingo. She was a voracious baker and received great pleasure in the enjoyment others expressed for her baking. There are many people in the community who will miss the tasty treats she prepared so lovingly. She was always an active lady and in recent years she enjoyed preparing homemade soup for the food bank. The return of spring was an important time when Mom loved to plant her garden and watch her produce and flowers grow, only to be harvested in the fall. Mom spent many happy hours going to bingo with her "bingo buddies". She will be lovingly remembered by friends and neighbours alike in the community. We can still hear the sound of her laughter and feel the warmth of her hugs. She will remain in our hearts forever. The family wishes to give thanks to the Homecare team for the wonderful care and support that she and the family received in her final days. You are angels without wings. Thanks also to the friends, family and neighbours who sent cards and food. A private family celebration was held on the September long weekend. If family and friends so desire, memorial tributes can be made directly to a charity of one's choice or to one of Mom's favourite charities; the Lord's Bounty Food Bank or the Flin Flon/Creighton & Area SPCA.
