RONALD JOSEPH ENRIGHT Ronald Joseph Enright age 72 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 21, 2003, at Roblin istrict Health Centre, Roblin, MB. Ronald Enright was born September 28, 1931 at Wadena, SK, and was raised in the Lintlaw District of SK. He was the second son of Pete and Frances (Betz) Enright. During his younger years Ron worked in several provinces including Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. In the fall of 1952 Ron ventured to Flin Flon and found a job at HBM & S as a crane operator where he remained for 22 years. While working in Flin Flon Ron met Irene Hamilton and they were married on July 15, 1953. Ron and Irene would become the proud parents of 8 children. Ron and Irene made many friends in Flin Flon with some wonderful people who would become lifelong friends. In 1974 Ron moved to Jenpeg, MB, where he worked to help build a power dam. He worked alongside his brother Paul and again made lifelong friends that remember Ron as the King of joketelling at Jenpeg. In 1979 Ron and Irene packed up their family and belongings and moved to Roblin, MB. A year later they had a hankering to be back on the farm. They purchased land and a home in the Shell Valley District where many more good friendships were kindled. Ron was fondly referred to as the Mayor of Shell Valley. The farm would become Ron's paradise. Ron and Irene were kept busy with 2 large gardens as well as a variety of animals over the years. Ron and Irene's children and grandchildren enjoyed many activities including learning animal husbandry, gardening, snowmobiling, and skating on the pond. Ron had many hobies over the years; he loved to curl, fish, hunt and play cards. He was particularly proud of his "29" hand, a rarity for crib players, and was equally proud of the Manitoba Master Angler Award he received earlier in 2003. Ron was very proud of his kids and grandkids and when there was someone around to listen he was known to brag about them. He believed the most important things in life are Family, treating people with respect , and forming lasting friendships. He would always take time to talk and listen and especially to the stories of old timers. Ron was a kind and generous man who taught us many things. We are grateful that we had him for as long as we did.
